What was supposed to be an act of daredevilry turned out to be a damp squib in a show named eaten alive.

An American naturalist, Paul Rosolie along with his team  tracked down a 20 ft long female anaconda in the deep foliage of Peruvian Amazon.

The animal was assumed to be big enough to swallow the 5ft 9inch Mr Rosolie.

Inorder to avoid being crushed Mr Rosolie wore a lightweight,  strong carbon-fire suit that fit his frame closely.

The outfit was equipped with built in cameras and a radio mic so he can communicate with his team.

The 27 year old naturalist donned a black armored suit slathered in pig's blood and crawled on his limbs pretending to be a wild boar towards the snake.

What happened next was never imagined by the entire team.

An otherwise shy 'anaconda' coiled itself around his body, while clamping its jaws on his head.

Anacondas can stretch their jaws to an astounding 180 degrees. As Mr Roslie felt his arm start to break he cried for help. Only part of his head was inside snake when his team wrestled it off him.

Now since social media was eagerly waiting for this naturalist to be eaten alive, to their utter disappointment, he got away with just a scratch on his arms ,

Twitter user John Harris from Boston tweeted, “They should rename #EatenAlive to look for snakes for 1.5 hours and then try to be eaten alive, only to escape with a scratch on arm.”

Another disenchanted user from Pennsylvania tweeted, “I hope Paul is happy despite letting an entire nation down. I can't believe he can show his face on tv right now. What a wuss #EatenAlive.”

Even the campaign group, People for Ethical Treatment of animals (PETA) concluded that the snake was tortured and tormented with this undue breach in its habitat.
