New Delhi: Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, and neighbouring Puducherry, are under the influence of heavy rains. At least 188 lives have been claimed by rain flurry which resulted in the disruption of flights, trains and left several areas inundated.
Teams of army, navy, coast guard and NDRF have been deployed in the worst-affected areas. The operation is on to rescue the stranded people and transport the relief material to the affected people.
