Free Aadhaar Card update: Earlier, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said that Aadhaar card holders can update the latest details for free until December 14. Moreover, the Aadhaar card holders who have moved to a new city or recently changed their address can update the same in the Aadhaar details untill the deadline. Now, the UIDAI is asking Aadhaar card holders to update their details every 10 years.
What is deadline for Aadhaar's free update?
- All Aadhaar card holders can update the details for free online through the myAadhaar portal until December 14, 2024. After the deadline is over, the offline updates at Aadhaar centres will incur a fee from the users.

How to Update Aadhaar Online
- First visit the UIDAI Website
- On the home page, navigate to the Update Section
- Then you will have to click on ‘My Aadhaar’ and select ‘Update Your Aadhaar’.
- Access the Update Page
- Then you open the ‘Update Aadhaar Details (Online)’ page and click on ‘Document Update’.
- Here, you enter all Aadhaar Details
- Then, insert your Aadhaar number and Captcha code, then click ‘Send OTP’.
- Then login with OTP
- Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
- Select Details to Update
- Choose the details you want to update (e.g., name, address, date of birth).
- Submit and Upload Documents
- Enter the updated information and upload the necessary documents.
- Finally, complete the Update Request
- Submit your request. You’ll receive an Update Request Number (URN) via SMS to track the status of your update.
