New Delhi: Chinese handset maker Xiaomi plans to officially launch the Xiaomi Redmi Note on November 24. The device is likely to be priced at Rs 9,999.

Xiaomi Redmi Note is the most anticipated launch by the company which has tasted success with Mi 3 and the entry-level Redmi 1S.

The company has also started a contest Indian customers on Facebook in which it touts, "Want to win a Redmi Note?" The Facebook post also asked its fans to share the post, tag a friend and submit an image, which can be a click or a design/ drawing by the user.

The Redmi Note features a 5.5-inch 720x1280 pixel IPS-LCD display with a pixel density of 267ppi. The device features dual-SIM support with dual standby, and is powered a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MTK6592 SoC, coupled with Mali-450MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the MIUI v5 skin on top.

The handset offers a 13-megapxiel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. Inbuilt storage includes 8GB along with support for microSD card expandability (up to 32GB).

Connectivity options include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Direct and hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB with OTG, and GPS/ A-GPS. The Redmi Note features a 3100mAh battery, weighs 199 grams.

 Given its powerful range of specs, it seems like Xiaomi Xiaomi Redmi Note is a value for money proposition. There is no other company that will give you an octa-core processor or a 13MP camera for under Rs 10,000.
