New Delhi: Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is set to enter the Indian smartphone market by launching Vivo X5Max, touted to be the world's slimmest smartphone. The device is expected to be launched on December 15.
Vivo says it plans to launch as many as five models in India ranging from Rs 7,000 to Rs 40,000. The company has recently started selling its handsets in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Myanmar.
Vivo X5Max comes with 4.75mm waistline which makes it 0.10mm thinner than Oppo R5, believed to be the world's slimmest smartphone.
From its listing on a certification website, the handset comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920p) display and is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Mediatek processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat.
It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB.
The handset sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone is expected to support all major connectivity options including 4G TD-LTE, offering support for Indian 4G bands.
