New Delhi: Domestic handset maker Spice has added another mid-range budget smartphone to its product portfolio, called the Smart Flo Mettle 5X.
The Smart Flo Mettle 5X measures 148.5x78.9x10.4mm, and weighs 190 grams. It is a dual-SIM (2GưG) smartphone that offers a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 480x854 pixels.
The device is powered by a dual-core 1.3GHz processor and has 512MB of RAM. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera and also includes a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It offers 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE and Micro-USB. The sad part about the Smart Flo Mettle 5X is that it does not support 3G connectivity.
It packs an 1800mAh battery that can deliver up to 4 hours of talktime and up to 150 hours standby time.
The phone has pre integrated BBM, Quad Band on 2G three feather touch keys and a flip to mute feature. The manufacturer is selling the smartphone at Rs 6,499 through online retailer HomeShop18.
Spice has also confirmed that two upcoming models in the Mettle series, the Mettle 4X and Mettle 3.5X, which will be launched later this month. However, Spice did not offer any further details about them.
Early verdict:
It is a mid-range device that comes with a powerful processor. The company is offering a decent camera, but the lack of 3G connectivity is a issue here. The addition of BBM and other smart features makes it attractive. Overall, it is good smartphone at an affordable price point.
