New Delhi: After rolling out its first curved display smartphone in South Korea, LG has announced that the LG G Flex is ready for a global roll-out, starting with Singapore and Hong Kong this week.

Consumers in Singapore can now pre-book the G Flex beginning December 8, while in Hong Kong the device will be available by December 13 through major carriers and electronics retailers.

The South Korean handset maker also said the company will soon be launching the handset in key markets Asia before the end of the year. However, the smartphone's India launch is still not clear.

The LG G Flex phablet comes with Plastic OLED display (P-OLED), which the company claims to be ultra-light, ultra-thin and flexible. The device measures 6.32 x 3.21 x 0.34 inch and weighs 177 g.

The smartphone is powered by a quad-core 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 2.1-megapixel rear camera. The device gets it juice from a 3,500mAh battery. LG G Flex is likely to cost around Rs 59,000.

Recently there were reports suggesting that LG has been working on a successor to the G Flex curved display smartphone, which would come with special hard rubber body allowing it to bend up to a 90 degree angle.
