New Delhi: Over the last few years, Samsung Galaxy series have become synonymous with high-quality Android smartphones. In fact, the marketing strategy adopted by Samsung is so effective that most users are not even aware that the underlying architecture on a Galaxy-based mobile is Google's Android. No wonder people think an Android device automatically means something made by Samsung.
The Galaxy series has become so huge that it now comprises of over 50 separate devices, if you count all the smartphone variants, phablets, and tablets released so far.
The most recent version in the Galaxy series, the Samsung Galaxy IV, has reportedly sold over 40 million units worldwide since its late-April release date. Notably, these figures do not include sales for device variants such as Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy S4 Mini.
In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy S3, the best- and fastest-selling smartphone of its time, sold 30 million handsets in its first three months on the market and has sold more than 60 million since its late-May 2012 release.
Reports suggest that Samsung has also successfully sold over 5 million units of its latest flagship phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
