New Delhi: Nitin Nohria, Dean of Harvard Business School, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Tata Sons Ltd.
Dr Nohria has been on the Harvard Business School faculty since July 1988. He has served as an advisor and consultant to several large and small corporates across the globe. The appointment is effective from Friday.
Nohria's appointment takes the strength of the Tata board to six. The other members are Cyrus Mistry, Farrokh K Kavarana, R Gopalakrishnan, Ishaat Hussain and Vijay Singh.
Tata Sons is the promoter of the major operating Tata companies and holds significant stakes in its group companies.
Nohria received his Ph.D. in Management from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, after a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
