Speculations and rumors have been running wild regarding a lot of new upcoming cars and one of them was the Tata Zica whose teaser images have finally been revealed by the company. Tata seems to be rebranding and refreshing its advertisement campaign with Lionel Messi as its Brand Ambassador.
The 2015 year has been a season of new launches with compact SUVs, sedans, compact sedans and small hatchbacks releasing one after the other. Most automakers have found success in one form or another as far as their venture into new territory is concerned, however, Tata Motors have not been able to taste the kind of success they would have liked to.
But now the company would be hoping to change the same with its new Brand Ambassador and array of new launches including Tata Zica.
The hatchback would lie somewhere between Tata Zest and Tata Bolt. We see the same smiley grille right at the front of the car which is something that we have gotten use to in the last few years with the same design being featured by the likes of Zest and Bolt. We also see beautiful highlights with chrome strips under the honeycomb grille whereas, there are large spearhead-shaped headlights on both sides of the grille that gives a nice sporty feel to the car.
The circular fog lamps around the large bumper look exquisite as well whose aesthetics are further accentuated by the chrome highlights.
The shoulder line has sharp crease which looks nice as well whereas there ORVMs and the 10 spoke alloy wheels in silver shade looks elegant, enhancing the appearance of the car from the side.
The rear portion of the car is equally potent as far as appearance is concerned with boot lid being covered with sharp lines joining the tail lamps on both the sides of the car. To finish off the design for the rear portion, we see roof spoiler that has blackened out edges giving a graceful appearance.
In terms of engine specifications, we expect Tata Zica to be available in both diesel and petrol variants where the latter would have a 1.2-litre capacity that can churn out 85PS power and 110Nm torque.
The diesel motor on the other hand, would have a brand new 1-litre motor that can give away 70PS power along with 140Nm torque which are again very decent numbers.
Both these engines will work in synchronization with a 5-speed manual transmission system. We can expect the car to be extremely fuel efficient as well considering the track record the motor used by Tata.
Tata Zica is expected to launch in January of next year whereas the price of the car should be anywhere around Rs. 4 lakh. The competition for the car is quite tough with the likes of Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Maruti Suzuki Celerio already doing pretty well. However, with the new engine and design along with a reduced price tag, Tata should be optimistic for good sales this time.
