India's leading automobile company Tata Motors will soon have a new ‘Passive Entry Passive Start Systems' for the various new car models that are going to come out from the company's stable. It will be similar to the one found on cars like the Elite i20, Maruti Swift etc.

The new system will be found in Tata car models from the third quarter of 2016.

A report in the Financial Express suggests that German-based mechatronics component supplier, Marquardt, will start supplying its ‘Passive Entry Passive Start' system to Tata Motors. Marquardt is also setting up an R&D Center in Pune, and a production facility could be established in the country as well.

Marquardt makes driver authorization systems and anti-theft devices for brands like BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, VW and Chrysler. Some partial keyless entry systems of Marquardt are also found in Japanese cars.

This means that every Tata car to sport this feature will get the key control unit, antenna, door sensor, electronic steering lock and the start stop button from Marquardt. The initial supplies of these components will come from a Chinese plant.

While a partial keyless entry system is available on cars like the Bolt, Zest, Aria and Safari, a keyless entry-and-go (with the start stop button) is unavailable on any Tata Motors product.
