New Delhi: Samsung has launched three new curved PC monitors aimed at the mainstream consumer market.
Samsung's black-framed SE590C is 31.5 inches and will retail for $599.99. The SE591C is 27 inches will sell for $399.99, while the black SE510C is available in both a 27-inch and a 23.6-inch size priced at $299.99. Samsungs curved monitors will be available in stores May 2015.
Not only the curved screen captivates its users, it's designed to be easier on your eyes than a traditional monitor. Since the edges of these monitors curve towards the viewer, they match the eye's natural curve so users shouldn't have to shift their focus at the edges of the screen. Moreover, Samsung's Eye Saver Mode lowers the amount of eye-straining blue light output and its Flicker Free technology prevents flickering, which can easily tire eyes.
The curved monitors offer a Game Mode which improves dark scenes, like Skyrim, and its 4-millisecond response time virtually eliminates motion blur in fast-paced scenes.
These monitors offer a static contrast ration of up to 5,000 to 1, creating darker blacks and more vibrant images. This makes the monitor a good choice for streaming movie marathons or graphic design.
In terms of software features, there's a new mode Samsung calls Eye Saver Mode, limiting the amount of blue light there displays radiate.
All four models boast a 178 degree viewing angle, support for 16.7m colours and a 60Hz refresh rate.
