New Delhi: Samsung has slashed the price-tags of several of its Android smartphones in India. The price cuts were first reported by an established retailer from Mumbai. Mahesh Telecom tweeted the reduced prices for Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 LTE, Galaxy Grand Neo, and Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. In addition to these phones, Samsung has also corrected the price of Galaxy Tab 4 T231 in the country.
The retailer said the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo will now cost Rs. 12,590 and the Galaxy Grand 2 at Rs 16,990. However, there was not formal announcement by Samsung so far.
Samsung's official online store is selling the Galaxy Grand Neo at a Best Buy price of Rs 13,668 and the Galaxy Grand 2 at a Best Buy price of Rs 18,768.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo is a dual-SIM (dual standby) handset and features a 5.1-inch TFT display with WVGA (480x800 pixel) resolution. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor, alongside 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Galaxy Grand Neo comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA (0.3-megapixel) front-facing camera. It also offers LED-flash support and auto-focus feature for the rear camera, along with 720p video recording capability.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo comes with 16GB in-built storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card. The handset also has support for 3G networks, along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and GPS/AGPS connectivity options.
Galaxy Grand Neo is powered by a 2100mAh battery, which, the company claims, can run up to 8 hours on 3G Internet usage, and up to 10 hours with Wi-Fi Internet usage. The smartphone measures 143.7x77.1x9.6mm and weighs in at 163 grams.
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 Duos is a dual-SIM device (GSM+GSM) that features a 5.2-inch HD TFT display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor alongside 1.5GB of RAM. It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 8GB inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. Connectivity options on the Galaxy Grand 2 Duos include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB and 3G (HSPA+). The Galaxy Grand 2 Duos packs a 2600mAh battery.
