Khanna: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the new traders' policy aimed at abolishing 'Inspector Raj' would be launched on November 14.

Badal said under the new policy the entire work would go paperless and all sanctions required by the traders could be secured online.

"The new policy would ensure that traders would not have to visit any government office for any purpose including payments and sales tax purposes," he told reporters here.

He said within next six months, the state would get rid of this unwanted traditional exercise and administrative compulsion.

To a query on giving any relief to traders, Badal said he has already urged industrialists and traders' to send their proposals to the government which would be examined and implemented in the interest of both.

Punjab has taken a proactive step to facilitate investment in the state by offering maximum incentives, compared to other states, the deputy Chief Minister claimed.

Badal said that the state was on development fast-track and within next three years all major roads would have four or six lanes.

He said that "our efforts to bring industry in the state would be further supplemented if the NDA was voted to power at centre".
