New Delhi: Panasonic has launched a new budget Android smartphone, the P55, at Rs 10,290. The device comes with a bundled screen guard and a flip cover.
Panasonic P55 features a a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (unspecified) coupled with 1GB of RAM.
Inbuilt storage includes 4GB that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box.
The device offers an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, while also housing a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, and 3G.
The device gets its juice from a 2500mAh removable battery with no word on talk time and standby time. The Panasonic P55 features Tap Play, which allows users to wake up the smartphone without pressing the physical power button, and Gesture Play, that allows launching of apps via gestures.
