New Delhi: Chinese handset maker Oppo has announced that it will soon launch its R5 smartphone, in India. The smartphone, considered to be amongst the slimmest in the market, is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000.

The highlight of the R5 is its thickness which is just 4.85mm. It is so thin that it doesn't have a regular 3.5 mm headphone port. Users will have to rely on their Bluetooth earphones or connect via an adapter.

The Oppo R5 measures 148.9x74.5x4.85mm and weighs 155 grams.

Oppo claims that the phone's micro-arc frame is built from higher-strength stainless steel instead of the commonly used aluminium alloy to create a more rugged and durable frame.

The R5 comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) AMOLED display that offers a pixel density of 423ppi. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor (2.1GHz quad-core + 1.5GHz quad-core) alongside with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405. It offers 16GB internal storage but doesn't feature a microSD card slot.

The handset features a 13MP rear camera with Sony Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor and a 5MP front facing camera with 83degree wide angle lens. It runs Color OS 2.0, based on Android 4.4 and has a 2000mAh battery. The handset features Oppo's VOOC charging technology to get a 75 per cent charge in 30 minutes.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE (including Indian 4G bands), 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

Op R5 also doesn't feature a 3.5mm audio jack but the company ships a USB-to-3.5mm audio adaptor with the phone.
