Hyderabad: Norway is looking for business cooperation with India in sectors such as offshore oil and gas exploration and production, offshore supply and maritime industry, according to Ole Johan Sandvaer, Regional Director of Innovation Norway.
Innovation Norway is the Norwegian government's official trade representative abroad.
Sandvaer said more than 130 Norwegian companies have presence in India, in fields such as maritime industry, oil and gas, IT, renewable energy and engineering.
"There is increasing interest in Norway to look for opportunities represented in a fast-growing Indian Market," he said in his keynote address at a programme organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), AP.
Marianne Jensen, Science and Technology Counsellor of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in India, said India has had a strong economic growth over more than 20 years, and has strong institutions such as IITs and IIMs, making it an attractive knowledge partner for the Scandinavian nation.
