New Delhi, Sep 25: Nissan has launched its all-new 2012 seven-seater multi-utility vehicle, the Evalia, in the Indian markets on Tuesday.
The company has priced the model in the competitive range of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex- showroom Delhi). In comparison, high-end models of the Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova competitor are priced at around Rs 9.99 lakh.
Evalia is designed to accommodate as many as eight occupants and is considered to be one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in its category with ARAI certified mileage of 19.3 kpl.
All the four variants of the new Evalia will be available in the diesel version. Mated to a 5-speed manual transmission the MPV is powered by a 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine that produces 85PS of power and 200Nm of torque.
The company claims the model can attain 60km/h in 12.7 seconds owing to its monocoque construction that gives it a lower kerb weight compared to other MPVs.
According to Nissan Motor Co Corporate vice president, Africa, Middle East and India, Toru Hasegawa, the emerging markets play an important role for the company's growth strategy and in India its focus will be on price sensitive segments.
The interior cabin space of Evalia seems elegant and designed according to the usefulness.
