New Delhi: Sony has unveiled its budget smartphone, the Xperia M4 Aqua smartphone, at the Mobile World Congress 2015 event. Potential buyers can pre-order the Xperia M4 Aqua from Amazon Germany for €279 for an unlocked unit. Also, the device can be availed in black and white hues.
The M4 Aqua resembles a lot like Sony's Xperia Z3 flagship, though it's just a mid-range handset that's made out of plastic. As the name suggests, the device is dust- and water-resistant and therefore, it comes with IP 68 certification.
The new Xperia features a 5.0-inch display with 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution and is powered by
a 64-bit, octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, while also offering 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage capacity with microSD card support for further expansion up to 32 GB.
The device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It also has a gracious 13 MP rear-facing camera unit and a surprisingly good 5 MP front-facing shooter unit. The handset gets its juice from a 2,400 mAh unit battery which should be able to provide up to roughly 13 hours of talk time and 779 hours of stand-by time.
Sony has apparently confirmed that the Xperia M4 Aqua release date is set for Spring. And more importantly, the device will be made available in 80+ countries across the globe.
