New Delhi: Last week, Motorola launched its second-generation Moto E smartphone in two variants — 3G and LTE. The company has started selling only the LTE version of the new handset, which costs $149. However, as of now, the 3G-only model is also available to buy in the US, and it'll cost $119.
The new Moto E smartphone is priced identical to its predecessor when it was launched last year.
The highlights of the device are a modern version of Android, a basic but attractive design, and better build quality than you'd expect.
The Moto E has a curved back with a dimple in it for the logo, a centered camera on the rear, and a gentle curve all the way around the rim. The new device is an easy to hold device, and, while it's all plastic, it feels solid. The grip is enhanced by the matte finish on the back of the phone and the rough texture on the bands.
Motorola Moto E (2015) comes with a 4.5-inch display sporting the same qHD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. While the Moto E 3G LTE is powered by a Snapdragon 410 processor, the 3G-only variant has a Snapdragon 200 CPU inside. Other than that, though, the handsets are identical.
The 3G model runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and offers 1 GB of RAM, plus 8 GB of expandable storage space. It also offers a 5 MP rear camera, a VGA front-facing snapper, and a 2390 mAh battery that should last a full day.
Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and dual-SIM support.
