New Delhi: After Nexus device and Android One, Google is now rolling out the Android 5.1 update for Moto G Google Play edition. It is an over-the-air update and carries the build number LMY47M.
This update is 171MB in size and brings the same changes that were released for the Nexus devices like tweaked quick-settings panel, Device Protection feature, tweaks to interruptions, bug fixes as well as improved dual-SIM implementation.
The update, however, is being released in stages, with Android 5.1 Lollipop reaching more Moto G Google Play Edition devices gradually. The update could take a few days or a week to be rolled out to devices.
Motorola Moto G Google Play Edition comes with a 4.5 Inch HD touchscreen display. It is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and Adreno 305 GPU along with 1GB RAM. It comes with a 5 MP rear camera with LED Flash, and has a 1.3 MP front camera. It urns Android 4.4 and offers 8GB of internal memory, with no expandable option to it. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0. The device is fueled by a 2070 mAh battery.
If you can't wait, you can install the OTA file manually, as long as you're on the latest firmware (LRX21Z). Download it from here.
