New Delhi: Motorola has unveiled its Moto E (Gen 2) budget smartphone in priced at Rs 6,999. The device will be selling exclusively through e-commerce website Flipkart.
The company mentioned that it will not launch the Motorola Moto E (Gen 2) LTE in India alongside the 3G-only variant. It said it will be made available 'soon' but there is no timeline yet.
The new Moto E has the same design that we have already seen in the higher-end Moto G and Moto X devices. Motorola also gets more colourful with the new Moto E. It has introduced some new covers that it calls ‘Bands'. These bands are available in six colour options including Golden Yellow, Turquoise, Blue, Raspberry, Purple and Red. The new model also gets five “Grip shells” available in Golden Yellow, Charcoal, Turquoise, Blue, Raspberry.
Motorola has now doubled the storage capacity to 8GB in the new model. Moreover, one can also opt for the 16GB model. It can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
Moto E sports a 4.5 inch qHD display with 540*960 pixel resolution and 245 ppi. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with anti smudge coating.
The new Moto E (Gen 2) and Moto E (Gen 2) LTE support single-SIM and run Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The 3G version of the Moto E is powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 32-bit processor and a 400MHz Adreno 302 GPU. The LTE version has a 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and a 400MHz Adreno 306 GPU. It comes with 8GB storage space and 1GB of RAM.
The device comes with a 5MP rear and a 0.3 MP front camera and has 8GB of inbuilt memory which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0LE, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, FM radio, and Micro-USB. The device gets its juice from a 2390mAh battery.
The company had recently slashed the price of the first-gen Moto E model by Rs 1,000, bringing the price down to Rs 5,999.
