New Delhi: With an eye to reach mass market in the ongoing festive season, homegrown handset maker Micromax has launched its first smartphone with full HD display, the Canvas Turbo A250, in the Indian market

New Delhi: With an eye to reach mass market in the ongoing festive season, homegrown handset maker Micromax has launched its first smartphone with full HD display, the Canvas Turbo A250, in the Indian market for Rs 19,990.

The Canvas Turbo comes with a five-inch sharp FHD CGS (Continuous Grain Silicon) power saving display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution. Such a display offers a dynamic contrast coupled with superior 360 degree wide angle viewing along with color clarity for sharper text and great visuals. The phone comes with a full aluminum casing.
 
The Canvas Turbo A250 is powered by MediaTek's MT6589T processor, which offers 1.5GHz processing speed and a 2GB RAM, to make sure that multitasking becomes a breeze and opening apps turn smoother. It has 2GB of RAM and comes with FOTA support. It features 16GB of inbuilt storage.

The Canvas Turbo sports a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a 2000mAh battery.

A striking feature of Canvas Turbo is the ‘Camerazzi' camera which offers a host of innovative features including 360 degree panorama, Cinemagraph and Object Eraser. It is for the first time that a Micromax smartphone is coming with a 360 degree panorama feature.

Canvas Turbo further builds on our promise to constantly empower our users with superior technology. This is complemented by a refreshed ecosystem of applications enabling users to multitask offering great value to them,” said Rahul Sharma, co-founder, Micromax.

Some new and interesting features of the smartphone include BBM & Hike for Instant Messaging, Spuul to Watch Free Movies, Kingsoft Office to read, write and edit attachments On-the-Go, M!Security for Anti-theft, and Anti-Virus protection. The phone supports Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi, ensuring full time connectivity for social media.

The company recently roped in Hugh Jackman as its brand ambassador with an eye on other emerging markets in India.

At the same time, Micromax's yet-to-be announced mid-range smartphone, called the Canvas Magnus is also available on e-commerce portal Snapdeal at for Rs. 14,999.

Micromax's Canvas series product line include the  Canvas HD, Canvas 4, Canvas 2, Canvas 2 plus, Canvas Lite, Canvas Music, Canvas 3D, Canvas Doodle and Canvas Doodle 2.

The the Turbo is priced at Rs 19,990 a piece and will be available in two colors (white and blue). The handset will retail across all leading outlets in India starting October 26, 2013.
