New Delhi: With government's Make in India initiative completing one year, industry chamber FICCI said the initiative has helped attract investments and improved business environment in the country.
"Make in India has been well received by the industry both in India and abroad and has started yielding results too.
Also, we have seen a significant increase in FDI ever since the campaign was announced," FICCI Secretary General A Didar Singh said.
Make in India campaign, which aims to transform country into a global manufacturing hub, was launched on September 25 last year.
Pointing out that several initiatives have been taken by the government for simplifying the business environment, the industry body, however, said that a lot more still needs to be done.
"We are hopeful that business environment at the state level will be further simplified in due course as a result of government's initiatives both at the Central and state level.
"We have seen rationalisation and clarifications on some of the most time consuming clearances in the last 12 months which has given confidence to the industry and ensured faster execution of projects.
"As a result, we have seen the highest amount of investment projects getting completed in manufacturing in the quarter ending June 2015, since 2010," said Singh.
