New Delhi: LG and Google have entered into a long term patent license agreement that covers a wide range of products and technology of two companies. The company says that the arrangement covers all existing patents between the duo, as well as new ones filed over the next decade.

In a joint statement, LG Electronics and Google said they will share existing and future patents up until 2023.

The agreement also meant that the agreement will protect both from lawsuits that involve each others' patents, leaving them free to work on their products and technologies, most likely ones surrounding Android and smart devices, without fear of litigation.

Already, LG is an important contract maker for Google for its Nexus series phones and a key Android vendor.

This isn't the first time Google has made a patent pact with one of its top OEM partners either. Last January, Google and Samsung reached a similar agreement.
