Korean electronics company LG has unveiled its highly anticipated new flagship Android G4 phone, which marks a clear improbement over the G3 in many ways. Looks-wise, the design is pretty much similar to the G3 with almost similar dimensions and design with volume keys and power button on the back of the handset.

Apart from leather-backed variants, the first thing that will impress you is the brightness and vividness of the display. The new 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440x2560) IPS Quantum display with 538 PPI and a contrast ratio of 1500:1, is muh better than the 2K IPS in the G3 in terms of brightness and contrast.

The LG G4's design features a 'Slim Arc', which runs along its entire body, highlighted by a display with a subtle curvature. LG claims that Slim Arc offers 20 percent better durability than a flat smartphone in face-down drops, while also offering a better grip. The handset weighs 155 g and is between 6.3-9.8mm in thickness.

LG G4 leaves behind the infamous heat-prone Snapdragon 810 and has gone with the Snapdragon 808 SoC, and packs a 3,000 mAh battery to keep all of this up and running. The phone has the usual connectivity interfaces, including 802.11 ac WiFi, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.1LE, and NFC.

The handset comes with a feature-rich 16mp camera on the rear-side and offers f/1.8 aperture, shutter speed option, slow synch flash option, lens brightness options, ISO, white balance (WB), RAW or JPEG, Exposure (EV), three shooting modes, (Manual, Normal and Simple), fastest auto-focus feature and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) v2.0. The device also house a 7mp snapper on the front.

On the software side, the phone runs LG's UX 4.0 skin of Android 5.1 Lollipop. LG announced UX 4.0 earlier this month, showing off the software's “Smart Board” widget, the new photography features, and more.

LG G4 owners will receive a free 100 GB of free storage space from Google on top of the 15 GB that comes by default, which is definitely a nice incentive for those in the market for a new Android phone.

The device offers 3GB of RAM and comes with 32GB space with a microSD slot that can be expanded to 128GB.

LG G4 has a 3,000mAh (removable) battery, with the company promising a day's worth of battery life.

For now the pricing remains unknown and there's a good chance that smartphone could come to India by May.
