New Delhi: Lenovo India has started sending invites for an event in India scheduled for April 7, where the company is likely to launch the A7000 smartphone.

Originally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2015, the Lenovo A7000 is the first smartphone to come with Dolby Atmos audio enhancements. The Lenovo A7000 was priced at $169 (approximately Rs. 10,400) and was set to become available starting March in countries where Lenovo smartphones are sold.

Though there is no conformity on the smartphone's pricing, the A7000 is likely to retail at Rs 9,999 in the country.

Lenovo A7000 succeeds the company's popular 4G/ LTE budget offering, the Lenovo A6000.

Specification-wise, it is a dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) smartphone and features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display and packs an octa-core 1.5GHz (MediaTek MT6572M) processor with 2GB of RAM. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Vibe UI running on top.

A7000 features an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and has a 5-megapixel front facing camera. Internal storage on the handset is 8GB, which is expandable via microSD card (unknown capacity). Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G/ LTE (FDD Band 1, 3, 7, 20; TDD Band 40), Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB, just like its predecessor.

The Lenovo A7000 is backed by a 2900mAh battery, measures 152.6x76.2x7.99mm and weighs 140 grams.

The Chinese manufacturer can be expected to also showcase the Lenovo Vibe Shot alongside a "smartphone crossover device" called the Lenovo Pocket Projector.
