Washington: Yahoo's prolonged email outage has created panic among many Yahoo Mail users as they could not use their emails for the past two, or even three days.
This week, many attempting to access Yahoo's email service received a message saying the service is down temporarily for 'scheduled maintenance'. This has also led to company apologizing to unhappy users.
Jeffrey Bonforte, a senior vice president at Yahoo, said that some of the users have not been able to access their mails due to hardware problem in the mail data centers.
He added that the issue has been harder to fix than originally expected and expected the company to resolve it soon.
Yahoo Mail has about 289 million monthly users worldwide, second only to Gmail at 304 million, according to comScore.
