New Delhi: Twitter users can now privately send photos to each other, the company has said.
The new feature is an update to versions of its iOS and Android apps. That means users can now send and receive images through DM on both mobile and web versions of the service.
The new feature should help Twitter compete with photo-sharing apps like Snapchat, which are meant for sharing private moments instead of displaying them in public.
The Twitter app has also received an upgrade in terms of switching feeds, Jeremy Gordon, the company's senior director of product engineering, wrote in a blog post.
