New Delhi: There was a strong need for a Galaxy smartphone under the Rs 20,000 price point. With the Grand Quattro, Samsung has entered this segment primarily to grab market share from Indian brands like Micromax, Zen and Karbonn.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro, priced at Rs 17,290, is a budget friendly quad-core phablet, which offers a great value for money for the price conscious consumers. It has a 4.7-inch display that offers just 800 x 480 pixels. The Quattro is Samsung's first phone to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad core processor. With day-to-day usage, the performance is similar to the Mediatek quad core processor's performance.
The dual-SIM handset is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor, runs Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. It comes with an internal memory of 8GB.
The phone has a 5MP rear camera that offers mediocre performance with visible noise visible in natural colors. Video recording is limited to 480p resolution (720 x 480 pixels), which is another letdown as many competitors offers 720p HD video recording.
Its range of Galaxy devices include Galaxy S, Galaxy SII, SIII and now S4, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Y.
