Chandigarh: Telecom major Bharti Airtel today launched 3G mobile internet service for its users in parts of Punjab.
The facility was made available to Airtel users after the company signed Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) pact with other operators who had the license for providing the services in the state.
Airtel does not possess the license to launch 3G mobile internet services in Punjab. It presently offers 2G services in the entire state and 4G services to its customers in Chandigarh and Ludhiana.
The Airtel 3G mobile internet services will be available to customers in eight cities—Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, Ludhiana, Jagraon, Malerkotla, Nabha and Nawanshahr, the company said in a statement.
