New Delhi: In just a few years, homegrown handset maker Micromax has grown multifold to become the second largest smartphone maker in the country – becoming almost synonymous with low-priced smartphones and tablets that can deliver user experience very similar to a blue chip brand. Its market share too has zoomed from 8 per cent in December 2012 to16 per cent in Q4 2013.
No doubt, the smartphone maker has struck a chord with Indian consumers by offering tailor-made devices to their needs and aspirations. The company, which is also the world's 11th largest mobile phone brand now, recently entered the Russian market and will soon offer smartphones operating on Windows.
