Pune, Jan 24: Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, CMD of Biocon, has been chosen to be on its board on trustees by The United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP), a non-profit, standards setting organisation that advances public health through public standards.
Shaw is the second non-US member to join the board of trustees and her role at the USP will be to guide the organization's policies, finances and strategic direction. In addition, she will serve as a member of the USP Biologics Advisory Group.
USP develops information relating to various aspects of drug use and disseminates this information to practitioners, pharmacists, and others who make decisions about health care.
