New Delhi, Jan 28: Indian handset manufacturer, Karbonn has announced its first quad core processor based smartphone, named as Karbonn S1 Titanium.
The Karbonn S1 Titanium comes with a 4.5-inch screen with qHD (960×540) resolution and multi-touch capacitive input. It runs on Android's latest Jelly Bean operating system. There is a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera for imagery in the handset as well.
The Karbonn S1 Titanium is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 512 MB RAM. For storage, there is a 4 GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 32 GB via a micro SD card.
The Karbonn S1 Titanium comes with dual-SIM functionality with 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. There is a 1,600 mAh battery that the company claims gives the device up to 4 hours of talk time on 3G.
The device is likely to be priced between Rs 11,000-Rs 13,000 with the launch date scheduled towards the beginning of February this year. The Karbonn S1 Titanium is available for pre-booking and interested users can visit the company website for the same.
The handset will give a tough competition to the Micromax Canvas HD, which too comes with a quad core processor and was set to make its debut in the first week of February as well. However, Micromax Canvas HD is likely to be priced at around Rs 15,000.
