New Delhi: Eyeing large demand for affordable smartphone, domestic handset maker Karbonn has launched four 2G and 3G-enabled smartphones in the Rs 5,500-7,500 range. The four smartphones launched are A16, A99, A35, A90. Among them the first two handsets only feature 2G connectivity while the latter two handsets support 3G networks.
“Today the mass phone market is one of the most significant growth drivers of the industry, and it is this market that we are targeting with our new smartphone range,” Karbonn Executive Director Shashin Devsare said.
Karbonn said the mass-reach smartphone range offers the consumers essential mobility solutions like good display screen, better battery life and extendable memory storage at an affordable price.
Key features of the four smartphones are as follows:
A16: This has a 4-inch WVGA display with a 480×800 pixels resolution and a 1.3GHz dual-core processor. The phone comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is a dual-SIM device. The phone has a 5 megapixel rear camera and is priced at Rs 6,490. This is a 3G enabled phone.
A99: This phone too has a 4-inch screen with a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor. It runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and has a 5MP rear camera. The phone is priced Rs Rs 6,590.
A90: This phone is priced at Rs 5490 and has a 4-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen. It has 1 GHz dual-coreprocessor, 5 MP camera with flash and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This is also a dual-SIM device.
A35: This is the most expensive phone in the range and is priced at Rs 7490, and has a 5-inch qHD screen with a 1GHz dual-core processor. The phone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This also comes with a 5 MP camera with flash and a 2MP front camera. This is a dual-SIM phone with 512MB RAM and 4GB memory space.
