Hollywood movies have always had a love affair with cars and automobiles and James Bond motion pictures are one of the biggest movie franchises to epitomize the same.
Although the previous James Bond Movie by the name of Skyfall was something of an exception not catering to the conventional norms of showcasing high-tech gadgets and top car models, the latest installment Spectre came closer to its original territory with cars like DB10.
However it's not just the vehicle of the Britain's most lethal weapon agent that caught our eyes, but the car driven by the nemesis of 007 also got a lot of limelight.
And given the marketing strategy adopted by Jaguar, it is always said to be the car for the bad guys and Jaguar C-X75 is certainly worth being the vehicle of the villain in a James Bond Movie. Jaguar cars have always caught the attention of the people worldwide and the new vehicle is no exception.
So let us take a closer look at the Jaguar C-X75 as far as innovation and technology is concerned.
The development phase was relatively quite short for Jaguar C-X75 as the vehicle became a working prototype in a span of 2 years with an all-wheel drive setup along with the company's first carbon composite monocoque chassis.
Further, the car has the plug-in parallel hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) which deliver an impressive power boost.
As far as performance is concerned, Jaguar C-X75 delivers stunning numbers including more than 850hp power and twists away a massive 1000Nm torque. The engine is obviously inspired by the Formula 1 based 1.6 litre dual-boosted turbocharged and supercharged engine that is backed by four cylinders carving away 501hp at 10000 rpm.
The engine works with a 7- speed automated manual transmission system which enables gear changes under a span of 200 milliseconds.
The battery backup for Jaguar C-X75 is also quite powerful capable of delivering over 300kW if given a full charge. It is no surprise that Jaguar C-X75 with such powerful numbers under its belt is able to go from 0 to 160kmph inside of 6 seconds. On paper, the first prototype of Jaguar C-X75 can attain a maximum velocity of 354kmph although when it came to actual testing, the car managed to exceed 321kmph, but with ease.
Global Brand Director of Jaguar, Mr. Adrian Hallmark said of the Jaguar C-X75 programme that the vehicle is the representation of the top class Jaguar engineering and design. He also said that Jaguar C-X75 is possible the world fastest platform for implementing the most advanced technologies with further boost from the hybrid powertrain of Jaguar.
According to Mr. Adrian Hallmark, cars like Jaguar C-X75 will shape the foundation of the future cars and become the cornerstone for brand's innovations.
Spectre has been doing quite well at the Indian box office and has done a similar job worldwide too. As far as Jaguar is concerned, the legendary automaker has been in the news for its newly launched Range Rover Evoque SUV 2016 in the Indian market priced at Rs. 47.1 lacs.
The new Range Rover Evoque SUV is available in four variants including Pure, SE, HSE and HSE Dynamic.
