New Delhi: Technology giant Apple's iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are expected to make entry in Indian market during Diwali festive season. But grey markets are up for pre-orders.
At Mumbai's Heera Panna Market and Crawford Market, Delhi's Gaffar Market and Kolkata's Air-Conditioned Market and Fancy Market, several stores have started taking pre-orders. Here, one has to pay Rs 1 lakh to place the order.
According to a report in Economic Times, the two devices will be available in the grey market within two-three days of the US launch on September 25.
iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be up for pre-orders starting September 12 in US, UK, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Japan. The two smartphones will go on sale in these countries on September 25.
According to the report, the average price at most of these sellers will be Rs 70,000-80,000 for iPhone 6s and between Rs 80,000 and Rs 90,000 for iPhone 6s Plus.
The rose gold colour model is likely to be available at an additional premium of Rs 10,000-15,000, they said.
The company on Wednesday launched two new iPhones which its CEO Tim Cook claimed are the most advanced smartphones in the world.
The new phones come with an enhanced 12-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus. The rear camera can also take 4K resolution videos, which can capture more details in eight million pixels. The front camera would be a five-megapixel unit.
The iPhone 6S will start at a price of $199 for a 16GB variant. The iPhone 6S Plus' 16GB variant will come at a price of $299.
