New Delhi, Nov 26: Intex has announced its new Aqua 5.0 smartphone, which comes with dual SIM as well as a dual core 1 GHz processor.
Featuring a 5 inch display, it has Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update as well. The new Aqua 5 joins the competition in the budget segment, currently driven by the Micromax A100/A110 and the recently launched Lenovo S880 smartphone. Aqua 5.0 is also Intex's first dual core processor bearing smartphone.
Intex Aqua 5.0 has been designed to offer maximum real-estate on the screen and a textured back cover for good grip. It has a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixel resolution natively. The display may not appear as great as the ones packed by the competition, though. The device supports SIM modules in dual-SIM (3G WCDMAưG GSM/GPRS/EDGE) configuration.
Under the chassis, it packs a dual core ARM architecture based mobile processor clocked at 1 GHz speed. Intex has packed 512 MB RAM and offers only 4 GB on-board memory. Intex bundles a 4 GB microSD card pre-loaded with games. There is a 5 megapixel camera at the back with LED flash to capture HD quality videos. Video calls will be possible with the front facing 1.3 megapixel camera.
Intex Aqua 5.0 runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich by default and to power up the phone there is a 2000 mAh battery, which might not be good enough to make this dual SIM phone last long. Intex promises talk time of up to five hours and standby time of about eight days.
As an introductory offer, Intex bundles a backpack worth Rs 700 that includes a 4 GB memory card pre-loaded with games and NQ anti virus. Intex Aqua 5.0 will be sold in India for Rs 9,990.
