3. Police use for Highway patrolling:
It was the year 2006, when Oklahoma government converted Hayabusa into a pursuit vehicle. They designed the bike with a radar unit, police siren and lights and painted it in their official colours and insignia.
Thanks to its impressive speed and the positive response from the public, Oklahoma government added another two motorcycles in their fleet of Harley Davidson Police motorcycles. After OHP (Oklahoma Highway Patrol), Humberside Police of UK put undercover Hayabusa on road to catch speeding motorists.
4. Amongst the fastest accelerating machines ever built:
Even after more than 15 years of its inception, the bike is still amongst fastest accelerating motorcycle ever introduced to the world. It takes around 2.74 seconds to reach 0-100 kmph and presently ranked at 11 position.
5. Fastest Production Motorcycle of 20th Century:
With this launch itself, Hayabusa won the title of fastest production motorcycle in the world having a top of 303 to 312 kmph. After winning the title, the bike had to face many issues such as the fear of European regulatory backlash or an import ban, which lead to an informal agreement between the Japanese and European manufacturers to bring down the top speed to an arbitrary limit.
When the limitation was accepted, people thought it will lose its title to Kawasaki Ninja ZX 12-R, but Kawasaki fell short by 6 kmph of claiming the title. Therefore, Hayabusa secured its place as the fastest production motorcycle of 20th Century.
Other than speed, Hayabusa is praised by many reviewers for its overall performance, without compromising on comfort, handling, reliability, noise and fuel economy. It is truly a one of the best superbikes ever brought in the world.
