Bangalore, Jan 4: According to a report published in The Times of India, IT major Infosys has begun firing employees at the bottom of the pyramid.
The Bangalore-based company is resorting to retrenchment due to cost pressures it is facing on the back on an overall slowing global economy.
“Instead of giving underperforming staff up to six months for retraining, India's second-largest software company is asking the worst performers, about 3-4% of the 1.5-lakh workforce, to leave straightaway,
the newspaper reported.
Earlier, the IT bellwether Infosys, expressed optimism that the IT sector as a whole will se a better year due to improvement in many global economies.
