Mumbai, Jun 10: Six days after he criticised chief minister Prithviraj Chavan over the exodus of industries out of the state, NCP chief Sharad Pawar has once again trained his guns on Chavan over implementation of the industrial policy in the state.

“When Vilasrao Deshmukh was the chief minister, he took consent of the cabinet and finalised a policy. That policy should be implemented,” Pawar said in an interview to Marathi news channel IBN Lokmat.

“There should be consistency in the government.Persons may come and go,” he said.

The confidence about the government is of importance, Pawar said. “We should give the confidence to people,” he added.

“I am not blaming just Prithviraj. But in the last few years, this confidence has taken a beating,” Pawar said.

Pawar said industrialists who have units at Chakan near Pune are uneasy over the overall situation.

“I have spoken to the CM and Deputy CM. There are two-three things in Chakan. There was goondaism, but there is no police station there. MIDC should improve roads, there should be proper power supply,” he said.

Last Saturday, Pawar had said that for the past six months, big industrial projects from Mahindra and Mahindra, Bharat Forge had decided to shift plant sites from Maharashtra to Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
