Honda has released a sneak peak of its much-anticipated new-generation Honda Jazz. The company has started the online marketing campaign for the car and has also teased a short video of the car that ends up saying 'Coming Soon'.
The new-gen model of the hatchback looks sportier, sleeker and bolder with the design based on 'Exciting H Design.' The new model breaks away with old model's mini MPV like look and adopts a proper hatchback look.
The vehicle comes with Civic-like horizontally stretched head-lamps, new grille and all new bumper with large air-vents. The rear offers new tail-lamps and new bumper.
The side profile of the new Jazz now looks more aggressive thanks to prominent creases, new alloy wheels and wing mirrors.
The vehicle might be made available in three engine options - 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel.
While the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol mill is the same that powered the old model, the other two - 1.5-litre petrol & diesel - do duty on the Honda City.
India will be the first market to sell the Jazz with a diesel engine. The engine in question is the same 1.5-liter i-DTEC unit found on the Amaze, City and Mobilio. Capable of 100 PS and 200 Nm on these cars, the Jazz diesel is expected to set a new benchmark for fuel economy in its segment.
Honda will make the new Jazz at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. Honda is also targeting 90 percent localization for the new Jazz, which shares its platform and many parts with the new City.
