New Delhi, March 28: Google has now added its movie rentals and purchase service, Google Play Movies, to the Indian Web Store.



The Store will contain both Hindi and English films. One can rent movies for as low as Rs.50 and buy them for a minimum of Rs. 190. Some HD titles are also available.

The movies section is now live on both the web and the mobile version. Users can install the Play Movies app on their Android device to download, watch and manage movies they've purchased or rented.

Some Hindi titles include Ek Tha Tiger, Tashan and Band Baaja Baraat and many more. For instance, the rent of Ek Tha Tiger is Rs. 100, whereas buying the movie costs Rs. 490.

Earlier, Google Play added Books to its website for Indian users and Indians and recently the company announced the availability of its 16GB Nexus 7 tablet on Google Play at Rs. 15,999. The shipping of the tablet starts from April 5, and the device will be delivered within 3 to 7 business days.

All these efforts are indicative of Google's aggressive content ecosystem strategy on India which it hopes will bring solid stream of revenues in the coming period.
