New Delhi: Google Nexus 6 is now available for pre-orders in India via Flipkart. While the 32 GB variant of Google Nexus 6 is available for Rs 44,000, the 64GB variant will cost Rs 49,000.

As an exchange offer, Flipkart is allowing users to return an older device to get up to Rs 10,000 off. The online retailer is also offering a free three-month subscription to Flipkart First; a smartphone exchange offer that can give a discount of up to Rs. 10,000, Rs 1,500 cashback on purchasing on six-month to 12-month EMI schemes via HDFC or ICICI banks, and pre-selected Flipkart ebooks worth Rs. 2,100 for free.

Before going deeper into its specifications, one thing that must be mentioned here is the high end pricing of Nexus 6. For long the Nexus smartphones have enjoyed great popularity among Android fans as they offered decent performance and a pure build of Android at a very compelling price. But with Nexus 6 it seems like that Google has turned its back on affordability. Though the Nexus series has been a huge seller compared to the top releases, like Samsung's Galaxy S line, it always offered something different. So, to some extent, it is not too costly given what it is offering (Android 5.0 Lollipop is among them).

Google Nexus 6, essentially a giant Moto X, is designed by Motorola. Apart from its size, it really does appear to be a carbon copy of the Moto X, sharing its rounded design, dual front-facing speakers, and rear dimple. The heavily rounded back of Nexus 6 sits perfectly in hand and gives you a good grip over the device. However, the phone lacks the Moto X's soft touch grippiness.

Probably the biggest highlight of Nexus 6 is its screen. Measuring 6-inches, this AMOLED panel has a native 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution (2k) that delivers a huge 493 pixels per inch. This means you'll get better color reproduction, clarity and brightness than other high-end smartphones in the market.

The Nexus 6 is a best on paper as it is powered by a 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor alongside 3GB of RAM. This is Qualcomm's most powerful chipset to date, which means that you can probably do most of the tasks with ease. The device will further improve its performance as Google updates and tweaks Android 5.0 Lollipop over the next year.

Like the Moto X, the Nexus 6's camera is surrounded by an attractive circular LED ring flash. The Nexus 6 also shares the Moto X's 13MP camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing FaceTime HD camera. The rear camera has a better Sony IMX214 sensor with a wider f/2.0 aperture and optical image stabilization. The phone delivers sharp and crisp images with detail and offer excellent colour reproduction. Google's stock camera app takes advantage of HDR+, Google's new take on HDR, which can produce stunning results in even the most difficult of lightning situations. At the moment HDR+ is exclusive to the Nexus 6 and Nexus 5.

The handset runs the most recent version of Android i.e. Android 5.0 Lollipop, which comes with a fresh look thanks to Material Design and a host of new features. The handset is fueled by a massive 3220mAh battery, which, coupled with Android Lollipop's battery optimisations, should provide at least an all-day moderate to heavy usage experience.
