New Delhi: Google has brought a new 'auto enhance' feature that will automatically make your smartphone videos look a bit better. After the feature is turned on, Google+ will give you a chance to see the original and the enhanced version side-by-side so you can select which one you want to share.
Just like with photos, Google will make recommendations about videos to enhance, but you can also select the ones you want to enhance as well.
Google says the positive changes could be seen in terms of stability, color correction, and lighting enhancements. Improvements to sound for better voice quality are planned for a future update.
The new feature applies to videos backed up to Google. The company advises to use Auto Backup to securely use the shot videos and the Google+ will automatically analyze picture and audio quality.
Users will be shown a preview with an instant side-by-side comparison "so you can choose to apply changes or stick with the original." The changes are all reversible and you can even opt out of the service entirely if you wish to.
Though the differences aren't jaw-dropping, the differences could be noticeable.
The new feature by Google comes after Facebook rolled an enhancement feature for photos uploaded through iPhones.
Prior to Google, YouTube also came up with an "auto-fix" feature. Videos uploaded on YouTube can be manually tweaked for color temp, saturation and contrast.
