New Delhi: Fiat Group Automobiles India Private Limited (FGAIPL) has launched the limited edition 2013 Grande Punto Sport 90HP in India. The car is a cosmetic upgrade from the Punto 90HP model and features a number of external additions to justify the sports tag attached to it.
The 2013 Fiat Grande Punto Sport gets rear spoiler, Sport badging, sports pedals, Punto badged door sill, Sport floor mats with red stitching, chrome finished exhaust and body decals (side and rear).
The paint job available on the car is limited to red and white while the roof gets a jet black coating as standard.
Beside these extras, the car gets all the features from the regular Punto like its dual front airbags, fire prevention system (FPS), immobilizer with rolling code (FCS), blue & me technology, auto climate control, ABS, Speed Sensitive Volume and an audio remote control.
The car is powered by a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine which produces 93 PS of power and 209 Nm of torque, coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The ARAI certified mileage is 20.5 km/l.
The Sport edition is available in Pearl White and Exotica Red exterior colors with black contrast roof. The ORVMs on the Pearl White car is painted red while that of the Exotica Red car is painted black.
According to Fiat, the idea of the Sport edition is to address some Fiat enthusiasts who, according to the company, are keen to modify or retro-fit their cars with accessories.
Fiat has priced the Punto Sport at Rs. 7.60 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). For existing owners, an independent accessories kit is offered which costs Rs. 22,000.
Fiat cars are offered with 3-years standard warranty which can be extended by 2-years. Fiat is the seventh largest car manufacturer in the world.
