Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual launched for Rs 25,990

New Delhi: Sony has officially launched its mid-range smartphone, the Xperia T2 Ultra Dual, in India at Rs 25,990. The smartphone will be available from Thursday at Sony Center stores, Xperia Flagship stores and major electronic stores across India. The Xperia T2 Ultra Dual is a dual-SIM phablet that is 7.6 mm thick and weighs 173g. The phablet has been touted as a successor to the Xperia T. The device sports a 6-inch HD Triluminos display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2 and offers a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.The device is powered by a quad-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It offers 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS for mobile sensor and offers HD video recording as well as 4x Zoom. On the imaging front, some added features include Portrait Retouch for make-up effects, Collage for creative photo collages, Background Defocus by blurring the background, Timeshift burst that allows 31 photos in two seconds before and after pressing shutter and Sweep panorama. The device also houses a 1.1-megapixel front-facing camera with an Exmor R sensor. The device also comes with the latest version of the Album, Walkman and Movies app with the Sony UI on the top of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.The Xperia T2 Ultra Dual packs a 3000mAh battery with battery STAMINA Mode. The handset is available in three colour variants - Purple, White and Black.The T2 Ultra Dual is compatible with a wide range of NFC-enabled Sony devices, including speakers, SmartWatch, wireless headsets and TVs.The device gets its juice from a 3000mAh battery that also has battery STAMINA Mode which automatically turns off functions to save power when you don't need them and restarts them when you do. Surprisingly, the company has not made the single-SIM variant of the Xperia T2 Ultra officially available, as the phone was listed back in February at an online retailer for Rs. 32,000.The phone will compete against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, and Huawei Ascend Mate.
