New Delhi: Smartphones are capable of doing many things few thought possible just years ago: watch movies, surf Internet at amazing speeds, do amazing photography, run several applications at once, connect with other devices, and over time, learn important things about their owners. Thanks to growing hardware and software capabilities on smartphones, people no longer feel the need of opening the laptop to check mail or do other stuff. The smartphones are changing everything. How we organize our lives, how we shop, how we spend our time, how we connect with people.

A new Nielsen report shows that 64 per cent of U.S. mobile phone owners now own a smartphone. And if predictions are true then in the next few years we may see a large chunk of population in both developing and developed world covered by smartphones. In 2019 there will be 9.4 billion mobile subscriptions around the world, and 5.6 billion of them, or 60 percent, will be linked to a smartphone, according to new study by mobile network vendor Ericsson.

Here in this list we are giving top five smartphones that can be called true multitaskers:

No 1. Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been labeled the most powerful smartphone in the world, boasting a supremely powerful 2.3 GHz Quad-Core processor and 3GB of RAM. This raw power, 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen display and an impressive 3,200mAh battery means that the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 is able to cope with more tasks as compared to other phones, making it the perfect multi-tasking tool.

The Multi Window tray is your first step to experience multi-tasking on the GALAXY Note 3 and can be easily accessed by holding down the back touch key just below the screen. A multi window allows you to easily complete multiple tasks on one screen. This means, you can take notes while watching a video, or search the web and check your email messages simultaneously. You'll find most of commonly used applications in the Multi window tray. To open applications drag them from the tray area to the blue overlay. This will let you open two different apps side by side – now that's a true multi-tasking experience!

A major benefit of Multi Window is that it allows you to toggle between recently used apps without closing windows or having to open new pages, thanks to the Switch App function.

The Note 3 becomes more powerful along with the inclusion of Switch Window and Drag and Drop.

Notably, you can open the same app twice using the Multi Window function. Thus, you can now have two separate ChatON messaging windows open simultaneously, allowing you to speak to two people without having to continuously close and reopen message streams. Similarly, you can open two different websites at the same time.

Using Note 3's drag and drop function, you can easily move content – such as text or an image – from one window to the other.

The device also allows you to create paired windows, which allows users to create a custom pair of windows that can be accessed via the Multi Window mode strip. To create it, run two of your favourite apps on screen at the same time. Now head over to the tray and hit the arrow icon and press "create." This will then save your selection as a paired window and you can name your pair.

The UI of the device also gives you the option of reordering the applications in the Multi Window tray, so the apps you use most frequently can be dragged to the top of list for easy access. Moreover, you can also dictate on which side of the screen the tray appears.

The S Pen accompanying the device adds to the multitasking capability of the smartphone. The Galaxy Note 3′s Pen Window feature allows you to launch an app in a floating window, just by drawing a box on the screen. Unfortunately, by default, the feature only supports a handful of apps, and excludes some of those you'd want most like the Chrome browser, Twitter and Facebook. The beauty of Pen Window is that you can draw as many as you want on the screen, while at the same time still being able to control the phone behind them.
