New Delhi: Korean handset maker Samsung continues to maintain its dominance in the Indian smartphone market through its highly popular Galaxy series as well via its deep selection of mid-range and entry-level models. According to research firm IDC, Samsung ended 2013 with 38 per cent of smartphone market share and its smartphone shipment volumes grew 37 per cent between Q3 and Q4 of 2013.
Despite stiff competition from brands like Apple and domestic handset makers Micromax and Karbonn, Samsung knows it has to once again tee up something more than special. Samsung added another gem in its Galaxy portfolio by launching Galaxy S5. The GS5 features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080x1920 pixel full-HD resolution. It comes with 2GB of RAM and will be available in 16GB and 32GB inbuilt storage models, with microSD card expandability up to 64GB. The device runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. The Galaxy S5 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with HDR (for video as well), and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.
For the present year, it seems like the Galaxy S5 is just the beginning and there's a lot more to come. Let us take a look at the best Samsung smartphones for March 2014:
