New Delhi: Korean handset maker Samsung is all set to launch Galaxy Grand Neo smartphone in the Indian market with a price tag of nearly Rs 19,000. This was revealed by a Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, who said the best buy price of the smartphone will be around Rs 18,190.
The tweet suggests that the device will be available in two day's time, which suggests a launch date next week.
The smartphone will compete against the likes of LG Optimus G Pro Lite Dual, Sony Xperia C, Micromax Canvas Turbo and Xolo Q3000 at this price point.
Galaxy Grand Neo has similar specifications like the original Galaxy Grand smartphone. It is a dual-SIM device that comes with a 5-inch screen with 800x480p resolution. While it comes with 8GB and 16GB storage options, the original Grand only offered 8GB internal storage.
The device has a 5MP rear camera and VGA front camera, compared to the 8MP rear camera and 1.2MP front camera of the original Grand. It runs , Android 4.2 operating system and has 1GB RAM along with a 2,100mAh battery. The company claims the battery of delivering up to 430 hours under standby mode and close 11 hours of 3G talk time.
While Samsung has used a quad-core chip in Grand Neo, it has used the A7 CPU architecture. However, the dual-core processor of Galaxy Grand was designed on the more efficient A9 CPU architecture.
The smartphone offers a multi-window functionality, which has been previously seen in Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and Galaxy Note 3. It also comes with a modified one-handed operation keypad designed to make it easier to operate the phone with one hand.
